Is The Hammer Plan B compatible?
Yes.
The Hammer is designed around the Plan B mounting interface for use with compatible suppressors, adapters, and mounting systems.
Always verify compatibility with the specific suppressor, adapter, and manufacturer requirements being used.
What thread patterns are available?

A revised M14×1 LH AK face-mount version is currently in development.
Prototype testing confirmed the performance we wanted from The Hammer, but we decided to further refine the AK mounting interface before production.
Additional configurations may be introduced in future production runs.
Does The Hammer require timing?
Yes.
The Hammer is a directional muzzle device and must be properly indexed during installation.
The included shim system allows the device to be timed while maintaining proper thread engagement and contact with the intended mounting surface.
Installation should be completed by someone familiar with proper muzzle-device installation.
Is timing hardware included?
Yes.
Each Hammer includes the timing hardware appropriate for its thread pattern:
1/2×28: Shoulder-mount timing shims
M14×1 LH: Face-mount timing shims for compatible AK-pattern hosts
The two shim systems are not interchangeable. Use only the timing hardware supplied with your Hammer.
What is the difference between shoulder-mount and face-mount shims?
The mounting method depends on the host firearm.
The 1/2×28 Hammer indexes against the barrel shoulder and uses shoulder-mount shims positioned between the muzzle device and the shoulder.
The M14×1 LH Hammer is designed for compatible face-mount AK applications and uses shims that index from the muzzle face rather than the barrel shoulder.
To keep it simple: use the shims supplied with your Hammer.
Should suppressor alignment be checked after installation?
Yes.
Suppressor alignment should always be verified before firing whenever The Hammer is used as a suppressor mount.
PW Labs recommends checking alignment with the appropriate alignment rod after installation and whenever the muzzle device, suppressor, adapter, or barrel configuration changes.
Do not fire the system if alignment is uncertain or if the suppressor contacts the alignment rod.
Why does The Hammer use a common-bore design?
The common-bore architecture allows The Hammer to support a broad range of compatible hosts while simplifying product selection and system configuration.
Caliber compatibility does not override thread-pattern, mounting-surface, suppressor, or manufacturer-specific requirements.
Can The Hammer be used without a suppressor?
Yes.
The Hammer functions as a standalone muzzle brake. Its Plan B compatibility also allows it to serve as a mounting interface for compatible suppressor systems.
Does The Hammer prioritize aesthetics or performance?
Both matter.
But performance comes first.

Every Hammer Brake is manufactured in the United States from domestically machined 17-4 stainless steel.
